AG Design Class – Flowers in Frida’s GardenWed, Jul 15, 2020, 7:00 pm$150.00
Our July class is an exceptional opportunity to compliment FRIDA KAHLO 2020 – the exhibition of works by Frida Kahlo coming to the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the McAninch Arts Center in Glen Ellyn. Frida Kahlo’s appreciation for the beauty & variety of flowers and plants from her native Mexico is apparent not only in her art, but was also a centerpiece of her home, Casa Azul in Coyoacán, just south of Mexico City. And, who hasn’t seen portraits of Frida with gorgeous flowers in her hair?
For this exciting AG Design Class, come prepared to be very creative and bend the rules, as Frida herself would have preferred. During this very special AG Design Class we will work with flowers, plants and other natural items seen in her artwork and we will use a color palette reminiscent of her style. Each participant will create an artistic & evocative floral arrangement that will be boxed and bagged at the end of the class for easy transport home.
At Andrew’s Garden, we use premium, high-end, seasonal flowers to create exceptional, garden-style designs. In each AG Design Class, you will learn how to choose, handle and care for flowers for the best results. We will show you how to combine different varieties of flowers, greenery and other natural materials to accomplish that recognizable style you have come to expect from Andrew’s Garden. Along the way, we will discuss basic design concepts including size, proportion, color-balance, vase choice, and so on. You will be having so much fun that you won’t even realize how much you are learning about flowers!Register Now!
